Prosthetic Makeup (N&S Wax)

One of the most versatile tools to have in one's makeup kit is Nose & Scar Wax. The wax is a brilliant thing to have on hand, and useful as heck. One of the tips that we were told was to use water to keep it from sticking to our fingers. One of my friends from outside the class recommended using lotion instead, and believe me you, that was a game changer! I highly recommend using lotion on your hands before working with the wax.
For my prosthetic, I chose to work with a burn scar, as it is rich in texture, but has much variation in how it could look, meaning I could adapt as I worked with scar wax (this was my first time working with scar wax).

I used green, yellow, purple, and shades of pink, with a little bit of highlighter to create more realistic trauma. Wasn't sure how to portray that. I used a gift card's corner to create the texture. I wanted to do a broken nose, but I didn't want to "hide behind bright colors," which is why they're used very lightly. I threw in the close-up for funzies, since I'm happy with how it turned out.

A couple of my research photos: TRIGGER WARNING

 My makeup:

For this look I used foundation, scar wax, trauma shading (see information before pics for colors), highlight, brow pencil, and character shadow.
